The nine tailed fox demon is a powerful creature. Minato Namikaze the Fourth Hokage, sealed it into his newborn son Naruto. He used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal and sacrificed his own life to do so.
Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox. Foxes are a common in Japanese stories where they are intelligent beings and as possess magical abilities that increase with their age and wisdom.
Many believe that the fox demon’s name is Kyuubi, but it actually just means nine tails.
